Data We Collect

Tripensify is designed with a local-first approach. Your data primarily lives on your device. We collect minimal information to provide cloud sync and improve the app.

Stored Locally on Your Device

  • Trip data: Destinations, dates, budgets, categories
  • Expenses: Amounts, categories, notes, receipt photos
  • Itineraries: Day-by-day plans and activities
  • Packing lists: Items and categories
  • Preferences: Language, theme, currency, notification settings

Synced to Cloud (Supabase)

  • Trip & expense data: Encrypted sync to enable cross-device access
  • Profile info: Name and preferences for account management
  • Device info: Platform, app version, language, timezone (for push notifications)
  • Push tokens: Expo push tokens for optional notifications

Analytics

  • Anonymous usage data: Feature usage and crash reports via Aptabase
  • Visitor logs: IP address and page views on our website

How We Use Your Data

  • Core functionality: Expense tracking, budget management, itinerary planning, packing lists
  • Cloud sync: Keeping your data consistent across devices via Supabase
  • Currency conversion: Fetching exchange rates from third-party APIs
  • Notifications: Budget alerts, expense reminders, and itinerary notifications
  • App improvement: Understanding feature usage to improve the experience

Data Security

  • Encrypted connections: All data in transit uses HTTPS/TLS
  • Row-level security: Supabase enforces per-user data isolation at the database level
  • Minimal data collection: We only store what's necessary for the app to function
  • No data selling: We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing

Third-Party Services

We use the following services to power Tripensify:

  • Supabase: Cloud database and authentication for data sync
  • Expo Notifications: Push notification delivery
  • Aptabase: Anonymous analytics and crash reporting
  • ExchangeRate API: Currency conversion rates
  • OCR.Space: Receipt photo text recognition
  • RevenueCat: Subscription management (iOS/Android)

Each service has its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data required for each service to function.

Your Rights

  • Data export: Export all your trip and expense data from within the app
  • Data deletion: Delete your trips, expenses, and account data at any time
  • Opt-out: Disable analytics and push notifications in app settings
  • Access: View all stored data in the app at any time

Children's Privacy

Tripensify is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
